Incorporating Observations

The previous section dealt with the problem of action selection within the context of a given probability measure $P$ on $(\Omega, F)$. It is often the case, however, that partial information about the state of nature is available, represented by the random variable $X$. Probability theory admits the incorporation of partial information through the mechanism of conditioning.
